city passed a noise ordinance and now my porch radio has a curfew
got a flyer on my door yesterday. apparently starting november anything "amplified" thats audible from the property line after 9pm on weeknights counts as a violation. first offense is a warning, second is $75 my radio is a 1987 Panasonic with one speaker about the size of a coas...

why do so many live music videos cut to the crowd at the worst possible moments
like i get it, you want to show the energy of the crowd but somehow it’s always during the best part of the guitar solo or right when the drum fill kicks in and you’re sitting there thinking “wait what did i just miss” because the camera’s too busy panning over some rando screami...

like i get the whole 'isolation of the void' vibe but come on, it's not some chill empty room, it's a mess of supernovas and rogue planets crashing into each other. maybe im overthinking this but it bugs me. some of those synth tracks are so mellow and then you remember space is...

idk why but lately i keep noticing how many album covers have skies on them
like not even dramatic sunsets or storm clouds, just... skies. empty blue or gray ones. tbh and it makes me wonder if its supposed to be symbolic of something or if its just lazy design. i get it, the sky feels big and endless and maybe its supposed to make you think about freedo...

okay but why do so many songs about summer sound like they're trying to convince you it's the best time of year
like yeah summer's fun and all but half the time it's just sweaty and you're stuck in traffic or the ac's broken. it's not some magical utopia where every day is a beach party i get it's supposed to be upbeat but sometimes it feels like they're overselling it. like one time i tri...

songs i cant listen to without thinking of specific moments
does anyone else have songs that are permanently tied to some random memory? like i cant hear 'all star' without thinking of that one time my friend tried to skateboard off a picnic table and ate shit. or how 'mr brightside' reminds me of being tipsy at a wedding and yelling the...

songs that make you feel like youre running late for something
okay so i was blasting this one track earlier today (cant even remember the name now, typical) and it had this super urgent beat?? like you could practically see yourself sprinting for a bus or skidding into a meeting 5 mins late, all frazzled and out of breath ... anyway it got...
