Morgan Wallen performs live.

Morgan Wallen has gone viral for grabbing and throwing a security guard’s phone at one of his shows, and also batted off backlash after cancelling a gig due to the threat of “severe weather” that never materialised.

The country star turned heads during one part of his live show in Pittsburgh on Friday night (June 5), when he threw a security guard’s phone towards the audience.

In footage of the moment, which has now gone viral, the singer is seen performing live at the Acrisure Stadium as part of his ‘Still The Problem’ tour, and seemingly noticed that a security guard was holding a phone above her head to film the gig while on shift.

The clips show him performing close to her, walking further away to perform to the other side of the audience, before returning and taking the phone out of her hands and chucking it to the side of the stage.

The moment came shortly after Wallen made headlines earlier in the tour by flipping his piano over mid-show, apparently due to technical issues.

Morgan Wallen was set to play two shows in Pittsburgh, the aforementioned first night on Friday and a second gig on Saturday (June 6), however the latter was axed just hours before it was due to kick off.

At around 1pm local time on Saturday, the ‘Last Night’ singer confirmed that he was calling off the show as he had been informed of the threat of “severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night”.

He said that the move was done as they were left with “no choice”, and added that the “safety for my fans and crew is the highest priority”.

While some storms did roll through the area around 3pm, the conditions cleared fully well ahead of the show’s 8pm opening time – leading to some fans hitting out at the singer for presumptuously scraping the show.

“Morgan Wallen cancelling his show last night is just hilarious because I walked outside after my shift at 11pm and my car was completely dry. no rain in sight,” one person wrote on X.

Others shared photos of what the weather conditions were like outside the venue at the time he was meant to be on stage.

Update on Morgan Wallen Pittsburgh:

It’s currently 8:38pm. The concert was cancelled out of “concern for fans due to inclement weather”

In response to some of the backlash, Wallen issued a statement standing by his decision to cancel the show and said that it was done out of concern for his fans’ wellbeing.

“This morning, my team walked on my bus, told me that they had been consulting with local officials, and that I should cancel my show in Pittsburgh tonight. And I said, ‘Why?’ They said that there was going to be strong winds in the area. And I said, ‘OK’,” he explained.

“So that’s what I did, and that was the information I had in the moment, and I trusted my team.”

He added that he was aware that “that wind and whatever else hasn’t gotten to Pittsburgh yet” but that had seen that it went to other parts of the state, so wanted to err on the side of caution.

“The truth of the matter is I have a large stage that, in those conditions, could become fatal to a lot of folks around it. So I did the best I could with the information I had in that moment,” he continued.

“I’ve been seeing a lot of nonsense about me that is simply not true, and I just wanted to clear the air. I think my true fans know that that’s not how I operate in general, but I had to say it.”

At his Pittsburgh show that did go ahead on Friday night, the singer brought out former WWE star and Olympic gold medallist Kurt Angle as a special guest. His tour dates are set to continue in Chicago later this month.

In other Morgan Wallen news, the country star recently admitted that he hadn’t visited a bar in over a year since he was arrested for throwing a chair off a rooftop bar. That incident led to him being charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.

His last album ‘I’m The Problem’ dropped last year and featured guest appearances from Tate McRae, Eric Church, Hardy, Ernest, and Post Malone.

ok so i know there are a TON of songs about the ocean and summer and sunset drives but what about **stargazing**?? like actual songs where its just about sitting outside late at night and watching the sky?? i feel like theres this whole mood that gets overlooked. weve got 'starry starry night' but thats more about van gogh than the actual stars. idk man i want some tunes for when youre out in the middle of nowhere and its just YOU and the universe. feel free to drop recs if youve got em also not tryna be cheesy here but if youve ever seen the milky way for real with no light pollution lemme know where bc ive only seen it once and it was WILD. anyway yeah songs about stars. go.

like, i was blasting this one track earlier today on my way to grab groceries (yeah, riveting life i lead) and it hit *so* differently compared to when i played it at home. honestly something about the rhythm lining up with the road noise and the scenery whizzing by just makes it feel like the song was made for that exact moment and its not even a road trip song or anything, just a random indie track with some guitar and synths idk if its the bass vibrating through the car or the fact that youre kind of in this weird headspace when youre driving — half autopilot, half zoning out — but it always feels more cinematic even songs i dont normally care about suddenly feel epic when im doing 60 on the highway. anyone else get this or am i just weird for thinking my car is a better sound system than my actual speakers?

Everyone talks about Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, and Dimebag Darrell.

Who's a guitarist that deserves way more recognition than they get?

Bonus points if you drop a song recommendation.

like not even good ones necessarily. im sitting here and out of nowhere im hit with the memory of that weird plasticky smell from the floam i had as a kid and now im spiraling into thinking about other dumb shit like the way old library books smell or even the gross chlorine pool smell from summer camp. its so specific and pointless but also kind of comforting? anyway if any of yall have random smell nostalgia lemme know im curious if im alone in this or just weird.

is it just me or does every other ambient/lofi track have rain or wind samples in the background lately? like yeah theyre nice but its starting to feel like a crutch. are people just googling 'calm rain sounds' and slapping it under their beats or is there some deeper reason im missing? lowkey i get that it sets a vibe but it feels overdone at this point. tbh also if youre gonna use weather sounds at least make them subtle. theres this one track i heard where the rain was so loud it drowned out the melody and i couldnt tell if it was intentional or just bad mixing. anyone else feel this way or is it just me being picky about production trends? (also if you know good tracks that use weather sounds well im open to recs, maybe im just hearing the wrong ones)

Re-watching movies isn't my thing but I can make an exception if the movie is very good. The only movie I've rewatched recently is Avengers : Infinity Wars. It's the best Marvels movies.

Do you like re-watching movies?

so i was messing around trying to find something chill for my desktop because i get distracted easily and i found out wallpaper engine has all these new 3d scenes now?? like you can have low-poly planets spinning or vines growing on your screen and idk why but it’s so cool?? i guess i havent used it in years and now i feel like im late to the party as usual it’s wild how much this stuff has leveled up... though im lowkey worried itll wreck my gpu usage even on 'low impact' settings lol does anyone else use this or am i just way behind the times again? also now im wondering if there are any indie devs making wallpapers that double as generative art (like... the kinda stuff you’d see at a net art gallery in the mid-2000s?? you know what i mean??) cause that’d be ✨ chef’s kiss ✨ but maybe im overthinking this haha...
