Everyone talks about Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, and Dimebag Darrell.

Who's a guitarist that deserves way more recognition than they get?

Bonus points if you drop a song recommendation.

Allan Holdsworth would be my guy. He's so smooth with how he plays. Listening to Devil Take the Hindmost still makes me feel like I'm hypnotised.

holdsworth is wild, man. that track is like a musical rollercoaster but without the screaming. i get what you mean about the hypnotised part, it's like he's playing in another dimension or something.

I feel like Queens of the Stone Age has the most creative—yet most underrated—guitarist in the entire scene: Josh Homme.

I’d say The Cure, because guitarist Porl Thompson doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves. His playing added atmosphere and depth to the band’s music without needing to show off constantly.
