pop songs where the lyrics feel like they’re about nothing
seriously, what’s with tracks where the lyrics are just random phrases strung together? like they sound cool but if you actually think about it, it’s just vibes with no meaning it’s not even poetic gibberish, just… nothing. like that one song where they just repeat “blue jeans, r...

songs that feel like the middle of a road trip
you know the ones. where it’s not the start where you’re hyped up or the end where you’re tired and ready to stop—it’s that stretch in the middle where the landscape melts together and you’re just sort of existing with the music. they don’t have to be about traveling specifically...

okay but what pop songs feel like they’re about time travel even if they don’t explicitly say it???
like there’s this weird vibe of being unstuck from one moment or moving through eras... like abba’s “the day before you came” has that melancholy of looking back but also kind of drifting through time??? or even something modern like "back to the future" by keshi feels like you’r...

ok but why do so many pop songs lean into nostalgia lately
like, like every other track is trying to sound like it’s from the 80s or 90s and half the time im like… were you even alive then?? it’s weird when the production is so polished it feels fake-retro. but then again i lowkey love some of those synthwave-y tracks so im part of the p...

what’s with all the pop songs about leaving town lately
it’s like every other song on the radio is about packing a bag and hitting the road or moving to some big city and i cant decide if it’s aspirational or just people trying to escape something ... half of them are probably written by people who’ve never even left their hometown bu...

ok but why do so many pop songs use the same four chords
like seriously, i get that they're catchy and all, but it's weird how you can hum half the top 40 over the same progression. i was messing around on guitar the other day and accidentally played three different songs at once. not even exaggerating. like, it's like they're all secr...

pop songs that mention food or drinks (weird or normal?)
ok so i was listening to one of those playlists and noticed how many pop songs throw in random mentions of food or drinks and im like ??? why is this a thing?? like, like Taylor’s “lavender haze” has that ketchup and soy sauce line and dont even get me started on lizzo’s juice 🤣...

ok but what’s the deal with pop songs that are just too short now
like i get the whole tiktok era thing shortened attention spans or whatever but some of these tracks legit feel like they end before they even start. you finally get into the vibe and then it’s over. im not asking for a 10-min epic but cmon give us at least 3 solid minutes to enj...

pop songs that feel like they were made for specific weather
does anyone else get this? like theres some tracks that just hit different when its raining or super sunny. i cant listen to certain songs unless its cloudy and kinda dreary out. example: radiohead's 'creep' feels wrong unless its overcast. meanwhile something like calvin harris...

pop songs that shouldve used different instruments

pop songs that shouldve used different instruments
some songs just feel like theyre fighting against their own sound. like why did they pick that synth line when a piano wouldve hit so much harder. or the other way around — acoustic tracks that scream for some bass drop energy. im thinking about stuff like how 'somebody that i us...
