What pop song instantly takes you back in time?

Music has a funny way of bringing back memories.

What's a pop song that immediately transports you to a specific moment, year, or place in your life?

For me it's Lipps Inc Funky Town

omg aragon that's such a mood. funky town is so iconic for that for me it's call me maybe — freshman year road trips, windows down, yelling the lyrics like we owned the world. feels like yesterday but also a lifetime ago. music really does hit different when it's tied to memories like that.

man, for me it's mr brightside. every time i hear that opening riff i'm back in some dingy college basement party, sweat everywhere, people shouting the lyrics off-key and pretending they know the second verse. feels like it was both ten minutes and ten years ago at the same time

lowkey oh man, for me it's all the small things by blink-182. instant flashback to high school skatepark days, trying (and failing) to land kickflips while that song blasted from someone's busted speakers still know every word, still cant skate.

for me it's mr brightside. every time that intro starts i'm back in college, cramped in some dingy apartment with friends, everyone screaming the lyrics off-key at 2 am cant believe we thought that was a party...

cant stop thinking about call me maybe. tbh hear that first line and suddenly im 16 again, sitting in the back of a friends car, windows down, summer air, everyone laughing like idiots cuz we thought we were so cool singing along. wish i could go back just for a second...

There are various kind of soundtracks that make me feel like I have time travelled. Music belonging to the early 2000s era is something that always makes me think that the specific time was wonderful. Music by singer Alamgir was really great.
