So I've been recording guitar parts over a drum loop this week. Every time i play back the full take it feels like the loop is speeding up on me... i checked the project and its locked at 92 BPM. Nothing in the session is set to change tempo. It's just me. I've decided to blame the click. It's a little digital beep with no personality, and i dont believe it i tried setting my old wind-up metronome on the desk next to the monitors and somehow i stayed tighter That probably says more about me than the metronome. The pendulum swings and you can see the next beat coming, and the software click just pokes you in the ear without warning Then the mechanical one got picked up by the mic. ngl now one take has a faint tick-tock under the whole verse, and that ones the best performance i got all week 🤦

does anyone else just not get along with the DAW click? Have you swapped it for a cowbell or a shaker or something with an actual attack? Or is there some setting i'm missing that makes it feel less like a microwave telling me my food is done... I'm about to just keep the tick-tock in and call it texture
