What do you think of AI written songs?

With the rising use of AI these days, there are a lot of songs that have been written with AI. I know that AI exists to make our work easier, but the thought of it producing a song that I vibe to seems like betrayal.

I want to listen to music written by humans, by someone with emotions that I can relate with.

i get where youre coming from but honestly ai songs arent that different from any pop hit written by a team of people in a room whos to say the emotions are 'real' anyway? if it sounds good and you vibe to it does the source matter? idk might be overthinking it...

yeah i get that but also like... ai songs lack the messy human touch? like when someone writes about heartbreak you know theyve been there, ya know? its not just clever wordplay or algorithms finding patterns. that said, if it slaps i guess i wont complain... also have you heard that new track by lunar void?? its wild but so good

Many people will agree with you too. It’s hard to place your trust these days especially on upcoming artists.

yeah agreed!! tbh I'm more worried about streaming playlists getting flooded with generic filler... ngl then how would I ever stumble onto weird little bands like Grandaddy again?? I found them while looking up space songs at 2am instead of finishing literally any of my other hobbies lol

oh I cried at that one too... I played it for my grandson Tyler and he said "grandma who's John Lennon" and I about fell off the couch!! anyway I agree they just cleaned up John's old tape and didn't make anything up... Paul wouldn't go along with something fake, I really don't think so Just my two cents!!

yeah the AI just pulled johns voice off the piano on that crusty cassette demo, all the actual writing was from decades ago. still won a grammy so the robots are 1 for 1 i guess. i cried too, in a costco parking lot, holding a 48 pack of tp like a widow at a funeral

But the songs that are completely AI written are a different thing to me... I heard one on Facebook the other day that was supposedly a "new country hit" and it sounded fine, but there was just nothing behind it, you know?? Nobody had to live through anything to write it... I watched a Dateline last night where the widow wrote a song about her husband and it turned out she was the one who did it, so maybe I'm not the best judge of sincere songwriting lol Just my two cents!!

pam you got from costco to publix cart etiquette to AI songs in one post and still didnt tell us what the song was... also leaving carts out is probably against some city ordinance and nobody enforces it, but thats a whole other rant 🤦
