Tyler's garage band wants to learn one "old" song for the church fall festival... what should Grandma suggest??

So Tyler and two boys from his school have a band now they practice in my daughter's garage on Thursdays and you can hear it from the mailbox!! They're mostly doing Green Day and something by a band called Turnstile that I can't really follow lowkey but they've been asked to play the fall

twist and shout three chords, the Green Day kids can play it fast and nobody minds, and every grandma in the fellowship hall will be up dancing by the second chorus... if they want something more churchy, I Saw the Light by Hank Williams is just as easy. also if you can hear it from the mailbox, keep them done by 9 on Thursdays most towns around

i'd go "I'll Fly Away." three chords, everybody already knows the words, and teenage boys can make it loud without anyone at church getting nervous tbh my cousin's band did it at a VFW fish fry in like 2009 and the drummer was so into it he snapped a stick and kept going with a wooden spoon from the kitchen. honestly better than the original

just make sure grandma signs off on whatever they cover first ours once sat through an entire Creed song because the youth pastor told her it was a hymn

also if you can hear it from the mailbox, keep them done by 9 on Thursdays most towns around

lol yes!! twist and shout is perfect, though fair warning teh grandmas WILL make the kids play it twice if they want a churchier one, "this little light of mine" works in the same three chords and the Green Day kids can still go full speed on it. sorry, I had a whole indie band recommendation for this and completely forgot it halfway through typing
