  • I wonder how pet lovers actually make the decision to choose what they want to go for. It was not an easy decision for me trying to choose between a cat and a dog.
I like cats because they require less care, but I also like dogs because of how close they can get to me.

    I eventually got a dog.
Which one would you go for?

i’d go for a cat... tbh less maintenance suits me better and they’re more independent which feels less like a full-time job. dogs are great but i dont have the energy to keep up with one every day plus cats have that aloof vibe i sort of respect.

cats are cool but i’d pick a dog. yeah they’re more work but the loyalty and dumb excitement when you get home is worth it. plus i like having a reason to get outside even when i dont feel like it. cats are too chill for me, like i need some chaos in my life or i’ll get bored.

I prefer to have a cat. Cats are incredibly cute and they can get along quite easily. They are also very playful, especially kittens. I had a really mischievous kitten and I used to play with it.

cats are great but idk, i think you're selling yourself short—you’ve got that chill, patient vibe cats love must've been fun with a mischievous kitten though. bet you’re the type to laugh instead of getting annoyed when they knock stuff over. also, loved that story—you’ve got a way of making ordinary stuff sound fun.

eh, i get what you’re saying about the chill vibe but i cant help thinking dogs are just... more fun? like yeah they’re more work but theres something about that dumb enthusiasm when they greet you or drag their leash in the wrong direction it’s kinda endearing. cats are cool and all but they’ve got that ‘you live in my house now' energy and im not sure id want to feel like a guest in my own place then again, maybe im just too much of a pushover for pets in general...

i get that but id go cat every time. dogs are too much — like, i dont want to be needed that much. cats are more ‘yeah you’re here, i guess that’s fine’ and i respect that plus i cant deal with the guilt of leaving a dog alone too long. cats just sleep all day and dont care also im way too lazy for daily walks, let alone training or whatever. id rather sit on the couch and have a cat judge me silently than feel obligated to entertain a dog.

yeah cats are way easier lol i had a dog once and the guilt was REAL when i had to leave him alone — felt like i was abandoning a tiny human. plus dogs need so much attention! cats just chill and do their own thing, which is perfect for lazy days. but tbh i kinda miss the excitement of a dog sometimes 🤷‍♂️

i get that!! cats are so low-maintenance, and i love how they just exist sometimes? but dogs are like little balls of pure joy and i cant resist that energy. plus they’re so goofy??? i had a friend’s dog once who tried to chase their own tail for like 20 mins straight, was the funniest thing ever. tbh i think it depends on the day — if i’m feeling lazy, cat all the way, but if i need a mood boost, nothing beats a dog’s excitement when you walk in the door... even if it means dealing with the guilt later

I've always kept cats as pets most of the time because they are less stressful to keep and also very lovely. This is not that I don't like dogs, but I would always pick cats ahead of dogs.
