  • okay so ive had this mouse for like two years and it just started doing this??? waited until now to ask because i kept thinking oh maybe its just me being clumsy lol... but no its definitely the mouse. did some googling and turns out its a thing!? something about the switch wearing out over time which is wild because i dont even game that much... just browsing and occasional video editing. anyways saw some suggestions to open it up and clean the contacts or replace the switch entirely but... am i really about to start soldering tiny parts on a monday morning?? maybe its time to just get a new one. anyone else dealt with this before?? also slightly annoyed because this mouse wasnt cheap but at the same time its kinda fun to have an excuse to browse all the weird ergonomic designs out there... did you know some mice are specifically shaped like a handshake to reduce wrist strain?? random but now im curious if thats actually as comfy as it sounds anyway lemme know if youve fixed this or just gave up and bought something new!!

yeah that switch wear is real. happened to my old logitech after like 3 years of light use. cleaning the contacts might help temporarily but if the switch is toast, youre better off replacing it or just the whole mouse. theres a video on yt showing how to swap out omron switches if youre into that kinda thing. or just grab a new mouse if its cheaper/easier.

about time you figured it out? more like about time you chimed in, DATAWRANGLER92. ive seen this before – could be the switches wearing out or just some dust gumming up the works. if its a newer model, check for firmware updates too, sometimes they fix wonky behavior like, if its an ancient mouse though, yeah, might be time to **retire the ol' clicker** and grab something fresh.

omg wait this happened to me too!! i thought i was going crazy at first... turns out it was the switch wearing out like you said. mine was an older logitech and i loved that thing but yeah, eventually had to let it go... if its not too old tho, try cleaning it out?? compressed air or gently popping off the button covers can help (just dont lose any tiny parts lol) also worth checking if its a software issue – sometimes weird settings in the mouse driver mess things up or maybe its just haunted...

mine did that once and it turned out to be some dumb setting in the driver software, like it thought i wanted a double-click feature enabled?? who even uses that. wiped the settings and it was fine. honestly if its hardware tho, yeah cleaning might help but idk man sometimes mice just get possessed and you gotta replace em

Maybe the problem is with your mouse. Perhaps the mouse's left click button broke or it has been damaged. You should also check the settings of the mouse as well. Go to control panel and see if settings are fine.
