  • like, i was blasting this one track earlier today on my way to grab groceries (yeah, riveting life i lead) and it hit *so* differently compared to when i played it at home. honestly something about the rhythm lining up with the road noise and the scenery whizzing by just makes it feel like the song was made for that exact moment and its not even a road trip song or anything, just a random indie track with some guitar and synths idk if its the bass vibrating through the car or the fact that youre kind of in this weird headspace when youre driving — half autopilot, half zoning out — but it always feels more cinematic even songs i dont normally care about suddenly feel epic when im doing 60 on the highway. anyone else get this or am i just weird for thinking my car is a better sound system than my actual speakers?

yeah i get that. it’s like the car becomes this little bubble where the music and the drive just sync up perfectly. even a boring track can feel EPIC when youve got the windows down and the road humming under you. its not the song, its the combo of motion + sound + you zoning out a bit. lowkey also, dad joke incoming: maybe it’s because the car is literally "driving" the beat get it? no? honestly alright, hard pass on the humor then.

yeah no kidding, i swear it’s like the car becomes part of the song or something. last week i was jamming to this track with a weird synth drop and it was just *fine* at home but in the car? felt like the tires were part of the percussion. maybe it’s the way the engine noise blends in or how you’re kinda stuck with the speakers right there instead of wandering around the room idk man, science or magic, either way it works.

lowkey scruffy_pockets, ARE YOU SERIOUSLY SAYING THE ENGINE NOISE ADDS TO THE MUSIC??? THAT’S A WEIRD TAKE. LIKE, IF I WANTED MORE NOISE Id just crank THE volume. IT’S ABOUT THE FREEDOM OF THE OPEN ROAD VIBES NOT YOUR CAR’S RATTLE. also, what synth drop? now i gotta know what song is THIS bad at home.
