why do so many pet toys look like they were designed by someone who’s never seen an animal

tbh like seriously, half of this stuff is neon plastic monstrosities that look more like rejected kid toys from the 90s or they're shaped like food items which just seems like taunting them. my cat has zero interest in the “realistic sushi” plush but will go nuts for a crumpled receipt cant be just me noticing this, right?

yeah exactly!! it's like they think pets have the same taste as a 5-year-old with a sugar rush lol my dog once completely ignored a squeaky burger toy but spent 20 minutes obsessed with a stick he found in the yard. maybe we should just start giving them sticks and crumpled paper and calling it a day... also side note, did you know some birds can see colors we cant even perceive? like ultraviolet!! imagine how wild their toys must look to them... anyway yeah totally agree, pet toy designers should maybe consult actual animals sometime...
