  • lowkey like seriously it’s not that hard to beatmatch by ear. ngl i get it if you’re just starting out but once you’ve been spinning for a while it’s just lazy. also half the time sync screws up the mix anyway when the bpm detection is off. i dont get why so many djs act like it’s some magic button that makes them better. if youre relying on sync for every set you’re not really learning the craft imo. anyone else feel this way or am i just being old school about it?

sync’s fine for beginners or when you’re juggling a chaotic setup, but leaning on it every time? thats just skipping the skill-building part beatmatching by ear isnt just about technical chops—it teaches you rhythm and flow in a way sync cant. plus, if bpm detection messes up (which it does), you’re stuck anyway. might as well learn to handle it manually also, half the fun of djing is the tactile feel of nailing a mix by hand. feels more like you’re *doing* something, not just babysitting software.
