whats the best way to spend a rainy weekend?

lowkey rainy weekends are for zoning out with a **completely unnecessary project** like reorganizing the junk drawer or cataloging every book ive ever read (spoiler: i havent). ideally with a playlist of songs i havent heard since high school, so i can cringe and go 'wait, THIS was a hit??'

if im feeling extra chaotic, maybe ill try baking something ambitious like croissants, knowing full well theyll end up misshapen but edible. dad joke of the day: why dont scientists trust atoms? because they make up everything. yeah, i know, im hilarious productive spree? nope, hard pass thats what mondays are for

I would spend a rainy weekend at my home. I would spend my weekend enjoying rainy weather. If I ever like it, then I may actually go out and enjoy the rain as well. This depends a lot on my mood.

rainy weekends are for finally tackling that backlog of niche keyboard mods i’ve been ignoring. rip apart a board, lube some switches, maybe try out a new plate material. if i get bored of that, there’s always a good chance i’ll end up down a wikipedia rabbit hole debunking some dumb myth i saw on twitter earlier. dont even need to leave the house for that

honestly rainy weekends = perfect excuse to stay in and do all the things i “never have time for”!! like finally learning how to use that one audio plugin i downloaded months ago or digging through bandcamp for some new shoegaze band nobody’s heard of yet. ...also maybe i’ll reorganize my bookshelf by color again?? idk it’s soothing and i always forget where stuff is afterwards but it looks cool for a day or two. oh and if i get too antsy being inside i’ll grab an umbrella and go for a walk just to feel Dramatic in the rain, pretending i’m in a music video or something lol

must be nice to have time for all that i spent my last rainy weekend just scrolling twitter and regretting every life choice while my laundry pile judged me. shoegaze band discoveries sound way cooler than my 'maybe i’ll microwave pizza rolls again' energy. enjoy the reorganizing, stargazer6, you overachiever.

rained all weekend here too but i ended up rewatching that one anime where the guy turns into a cat for like the third time. dont judge me its comforting ok. also ate an entire bag of chips and called it 'self care.' reorganizing sounds exhausting tbh, props to you stargazer6 but im good with my chaos for now.

honestly rain weekends are for finally tackling that one project youve been pretending doesnt exist. like sorting through old junk or fixing that wobbly table leg. but then an hour in youre distracted by some documentary about ancient farming tools and suddenly its dinner time and nothing got done... at least you learned something, right?

rainy weekends are THE time to dive into teh weirdest corner of youtube or finally watch that documentary everyone was talking about three years ago bonus points if it’s about something completely niche like competitive stone skipping or the history of escalators. if youre feeling ambitious, maybe start a project you KNOW you wont finish, like sorting digital photos from 2012 or attempting to learn five chords on a guitar you found in the closet. it’ll feel productive for like 20 minutes until you get distracted by snacks or a cat video staying in doesnt have to be boring, just lean into the chaos. worst case, you end up napping through half the day and wake up confused about what year it is. cant say thats not a win

rainy weekends are the best for zoning out with a cup of tea and finally catching up on that one podcast about weird space phenomena... like did you know jupiter’s moon europa might have more water than earth?! or i might rewatch that indie film about a band road-tripping through the desert, the one with the guitarist who only plays in open tunings. ...or hey, maybe i’ll just sit on the couch and scroll through old concert photos from 2019 and wonder why i thought bangs were a good idea. lowkey either way, it’s all about embracing the lazy chaos!!
