  • idk about y’all but some songs just hit like a warm hug when everything feels chaotic, you know?? i was listening to 'such great heights' by teh postal service the other day and it was like, hey, life’s messy but maybe its not so bad after all 🤷‍♀️ gives me this weird calm energy even if its not a slow song any tracks like that for you? ones where it feels like the artist is low-key telling you ‘chill, itll work out’ even if theyre not saying it directly. also semi-related but i feel like thats part of why lofi playlists are so big. like, they dont even need lyrics sometimes, just the vibe is enough to be like ‘its fine, keep going’ haha. 🚀

**'don't dream it's over' by crowded house hits that vibe for me.** it's not slow or sad but there's something in the chorus that just feels like a quiet reassurance. like even if stuff's a mess, the world's still turning and you're not alone in it also, **'such great heights' by the postal service** gives me that Energy even though it's kind of upbeat and synthy. theres this line about how the world is burning bright and it somehow feels hopeful instead of scary? idk man, maybe i'm reading into it too much but it works. on the semi-related note, have you ever noticed how some songs hit different depending on the weather? like these tracks feel way more comforting on a gray day vs blasting sun. might just be me tho.

oh man, **'such great heights'** does have that vibe!! it’s like optimistic but not in a cheesy way, ya know? the synth makes it feel like you’re floating a little, like everything’s just out of reach but still close enough to believe in. ngl also, have you heard **'keep breathing' by ingrid michaelson**? ngl it’s way slower and kinda sad on the surface but the chorus is this quiet reassurance that even when things are messy, you just... keep going feels like a deep breath after crying or something. also random but have you ever noticed how songs with space imagery tend to feel hopeful? like **'saturn' by sleeping at last**—it’s all about growing and changing but somehow it’s so gentle. idk, maybe it’s because space is so big that it makes our problems feel smaller... or maybe i just watch too much cosmos, lol. anyway, good picks so far in this thread!!

yeah, exactly! songs like that are like a quiet nod from someone who gets it have you heard **'landslide' by fleetwood mac**? it’s not explicitly happy or upbeat but something about the vibe just whispers ‘you’ll figure it out’ 🤷‍♂️ it’s like the musical version of someone saying ‘hang in there’ without overdoing it.

oh man, i love that vibe! have you heard **'fix you' by coldplay**? it’s got this slow build and then it hits you with this wave of ‘it’s okay to feel this way but you’re not stuck here.’ 😭😭 always gets me in the feels but in a good way, like a reminder to keep going. or **'don’t stop believin'** if you want something more upbeat lol.

coldplay’s good for that but sometimes i feel like it leans too much into the ‘feeling this way’ part and not enough into the ‘you’re not stuck’ bit... like it’s cathartic but not quite uplifting? idk **'here comes the sun'** hits that spot better for me, it’s so understated but somehow just washes over you with this quiet reassurance. feels like the world’s tilting back into place. like, also, not to be *that* person but **'keep breathing' by ingrid michaelson** is low-key perfect for this vibe. it’s so simple but the repetition of ‘all we can do is keep breathing’ is oddly grounding. ...like it doesnt promise everything’s fixed, just that you’re still here

oh for real?? **'keep breathing'** is so good for that!! it’s like... bittersweet but still grounding, ya know? makes me think of late nights where you just need to hear something chill but not too heavy. also, have you ever listened to **' weekend whiplash' by swim camp**? it’s this indie track that’s super mellow and feels like Sunday mornings when you dont have plans and the world kinda slows down. not exactly 'everything’s gonna be ok' but more like 'it’s fine to just exist for a bit'... which sometimes is what you need, right? and tbh **'here comes teh sun'** is such a classic for this!! not to ramble buuut it kinda reminds me of how astronomers used to think the sun was a perfect sphere until they found these tiny fluctuations on its surface—like even something as steady as the sun has its wobbles, but it still keeps shining. feels reassuring in a nerdy way...

swim camp’s one of those bands that feels like they’re whispering secrets you’re not sure you’re supposed to hear... i get what you mean about **'weekend whiplash'**, it’s more about sinking into the moment than anything else if you want something that says ‘everything’s gonna be ok’ without trying too hard, **'such great heights' by the postal service** has this weird way of being both hopeful and detached at the same time. like it’s not trying to convince you things will work out, it’s just stating it as fact while the synths bounce around lowkey idk it’s comforting in a sort of low-key way. also, cant believe no one’s mentioned **'don’t dream it’s over' by crowded house** — that song’s practically a warm blanket in audio form

honestly **'weightless' by marconi union** is literally designed to reduce anxiety — studies show it lowers heart rates. doesnt feel like its saying anything specific but the vibe is 'chill, its fine.' also **'sprawl ii' by arcade fire** has this undercurrent of 'keep going' energy even when stuff feels overwhelming.

i dunno if its saying ‘everything’s gonna be ok’ but **'colorblind' by counting crows** has this quiet acceptance vibe, like it’s not happy or sad, just... there. sometimes thats enough. or maybe **'the only living boy in new york'** by simon & garfunkel? its got that floaty feeling of being lost but not panicked about it. like you’re wandering and things are out of your control but maybe thats alright too.
