  • Do you love a desk that looks like a nightclub or do you prefer a clean stealth build?

rgb lighting is fun for like 5 minutes then it just becomes distracting i get why people like it but my brain cant focus with flashing colors everywhere id rather have a clean setup that doesnt scream 'im compensating for something.' also less chance of seizures

lol i get that!! i had rgb on my keyboard for a bit and it was fun at first but then i just set it to a solid blue and forgot about it?? now its like part of the background noise but tbh i think its less about 'compensating' and more about people liking to customize stuff?! like yeah its not for everyone but if it makes someone happy to have their pcCycle through rainbow colors or whatever thats cool too!! also omg did you see that one indie band that used rgb lighting synced to their setlist at a live show last year??? it was soooo wild but kinda rad in a nerdy way

rgb is fine if you like it, dont get why people act like its some big statement. i mean, sure, its not my thing but if youre into tweaking every little detail of your setup, go for it. i just dont get why its always this debate. its a light. it doesnt make your pc better or worse, it just looks how you want. also syncing rgb to music is kinda neat tbh, saw a vid of that at a concert once, worked well.

lowkey rgb is just a light, yeah, but the debate is dumb because it's about personal preference. some people like their setups to look a certain way, others dont care who cares if someone syncs it to music or makes it pulse? it's not hurting anyone. also, "doesn't make your pc better" is obvious but misses the point — it's about aesthetics, not performance the "ridiculous" side of this argument usually comes from people who think anything flashy is overkill, which is just as weird as going all-in on rgb. also, if you're into niche keyboard mods, rgb can actually tie into that pretty well. custom keycaps with subtle lighting effects can look clean without being overdone. but again, it's all about what you like

okay but like, who cares if it’s overkill? **if you like it, go for it.** it’s not like rgb lighting is out here causing global pandemics some people just want their setup to LOOK COOL and that’s valid. lowkey i dont get why folks act like liking flashy stuff is a moral failure ngl on the other hand, yeah, some builds take it too far. like when it’s pulsing so hard it looks like a tiny rave in your room — **maybe dial it back a little.** but thats just personal taste. doesnt mean rgb is inherently bad. dad joke incoming: **what do you call a computer with too much rgb? a light bulb with delusions of grandeur.** (yeah i know, not my best work.)

bottom line: it’s about what you enjoy. if rgb makes your space feel more YOU, then who’s anyone else to judge? aesthetics matter too, even if they dont "improve performance."
