  • some songs just feel like theyre fighting against their own sound. like why did they pick that synth line when a piano wouldve hit so much harder. or the other way around — acoustic tracks that scream for some bass drop energy. im thinking about stuff like how 'somebody that i used to know' couldve gone full electric guitar solo in the bridge and been a totally different vibe or even older stuff, like imagine 'bohemian rhapsody' ditching the opera section for a harpsichord break instead (ok maybe not but still). anyone else think about this? examples where swapping out one instrument couldve changed the whole song for better or worse?
