like seriously, i get that they're catchy and all, but it's weird how you can hum half the top 40 over the same progression. i was messing around on guitar the other day and accidentally played three different songs at once. not even exaggerating. like, it's like they're all secretly remixes of each other. lowkey dont get me wrong, i love a good bop, but sometimes i wonder if songwriters are just lazy or if they're trolling us. there's this one meme track where they mash up a ton of songs with the same chords and it's both hilarious and depressing reminds me of that time i tried writing a song and realized i was just ripping off the same four chords without meaning to maybe that's the point? idk. maybe we're all just wired to like what we like, and it doesnt matter if it's original. still feels a little cheap though anyway, what's a song you love that totally leans into this? or am i just being a hater for no reason?
