just finished watching a movie where the ending was so weirdly ambiguous i had to google theories for like 20 minutes after. like, did they die? was it all a dream? what even happened? i get that some movies want to be "thought-provoking" but sometimes it just feels like they ran out of ideas and slapped on something vague to seem deep. anyone else run into this? got any recs for movies where the ending was confusing but in a good way, not just frustrating? i kinda liked primer for this even though half the time i had no clue what was going on. honestly or films where the ending ties back to earlier details you didnt notice the first time—those are fun to rewatch and pick apart. also side note, why do so many "artsy" movies think a non-ending is automatically profound? idk man sometimes a little closure is nice
