Do you think that we could communicate with animals someday?

I think that technology is developing quite rapidly and there are so many people who would like to talk to their pets as we humans do. Having said that, do you think that it would be possible to talk to our pets in the future? Will technology allow us to do that?

idk man, i think we already kind of do? like, my cat definitely communicates when shes hungry or pissed off, just not with words but full-on conversations? doubt it even if we invent some brain-scan translator or whatever, im not sure wed get more than 'feed me' or 'leave me alone' out of most animals. still, would be funny as hell to hear a pigeon complain about tourists or something.

lowkey lol i think we could but it’d be so limited... like yeah we’d get 'feed me' and 'go away' but maybe some animals have more complex thoughts?? squirrels plotting heists or something!! ...idk tho, even if we had a translator it might just sound like static to us cause we’re so different what if dolphins are dropping philosophy and we’re just like 'oh cool, fish noises' ...also this reminds me of that one band, like, were they called 'animal collective'? their music kinda sounds how i imagine a zoo talking...
