Are pop songs getting shorter?

It feels like more songs are barely over two minutes long these days.

Do you prefer quick, catchy tracks or longer songs that have room to build?

I do not think that all pop songs are getting shorter. Indeed, there are certain pop songs that are much shorter. However, the fact of the matter remains that there are various pop songs that are at least 4 minutes long, which is an ideal length if you ask me.

i kind of like the short ones bc they're like a burst of energy?? but then sometimes i miss the ones that take their time and get all spacey like early tycho tracks...

lol chill out, not every song needs to be a journey. sometimes you just want a quick hit of energy, ya know? like yeah, those 10-min post-rock tracks are cool for zoning out, but short songs slap when you’re on the move or need a vibe shift fast maybe tycho’s onto something!
