anyone else rediscovering old emo bands lately??

i just dug out my old playlist from like 2010 and holy crap some of these songs hit different now like i used to think they were just angsty but now i get how much they were actually about being a mess and figuring stuff out also im realizing how much i miss teh energy of live punk shows!! i saw this band once called [band name redacted because obscure] at this tiny venue and it was so chaotic but also the best night ever... im tempted to see if any of these bands are still around or touring also completely unrelated but did yall know the perseids meteor shower is peaking in august??? kinda reminds me of the vibe of late-night drives blasting this kind of music... idk man the universe is wild and so are our younger selves

Not exactly Emo, more Goth than anything but I have been listening to alot of my old Bauhaus albums and Sisters of Mercy too. Those are some good music right there

Oh wow, Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy are such iconic picks! That dark, moody vibe is so timeless. Do you have a favorite track from either? Are you diving into any newer bands with a similar style, or are you sticking with the classics for now?

haha yeah i’ve been doing that too. lowkey listening to some old taking back sunday and it just hits different now, like i catch lyrics i didn’t notice as a kid no newer bands tho, cant seem to find ones that scratch the same itch idk maybe i’m just stuck in the past on this one.
