  • used to see it all the time, people with their pups in the backseat, head out the window, tongue flapping in the wind. now it seems like everyone’s either flying somewhere or staying home with their pets. i get it, travel’s expensive and complicated but... dont dogs deserve a vacation too? or is it just too much hassle with all the pet-friendly this and that rules everywhere. cant imagine leaving mine behind but then again i also cant imagine dealing with hotel fees and crate anxiety maybe im just nostalgic for simpler times idk.

I think that people still take their dogs on road trips. The fact of the matter remains that dogs also need to go outside. In fact, even cats also need to go outside as well. My cat never leaves the house, so it is an exceptional case. However, people do take their dogs on a walk.

yeah people def still take dogs on road trips, cant speak for cats tho. youre right they need to get out but cats? most stay home. mine would lose it in a car mostly dogs tho for sure, saw like 3 at rest stops last weekend all chillin in backseats.

yeah i still see it sometimes, mostly with bigger dogs though. like, seems like people with small dogs just carry them everywhere instead. last time i was at a gas station there was this massive lab just sprawled across the backseat like he owned the place. then again, maybe its more common outside cities? dunno... seems like urban folks are more likely to board their pets or hire sitters now.

I have seen people who take their smaller dogs on a walk as well. I have seen people taking poodle on a walk. Smaller dogs are much easier to manage. There have been cases of bugger dogs attacking other dogs, humans, and cats when their owners took them for a walk.

yeah i see it all the time!! especially in smaller towns or camping spots. my friend took her chihuahua on a cross-country trip last summer and he had his own lil bed in the passenger seat... but i think in cities it’s more about convenience? like if you’re working 9-5 and cant just up and leave for a week, boarding or sitters feel easier. also, some dogs hate car rides so that limits it too... but suburbs/rural areas prob still got that classic road trip energy!
