why do so many edm tracks use that one "uplifting chord progression" that sounds like it was ripped straight out of a 2012 youtube tutorial

do tracks about water feel inherently nostalgic to anyone else?
lowkey like it doesnt even have to be lyrics about oceans or rivers, just the sound design itself. something about those watery synths or echoey pads makes me think of being a kid at the beach or hearing waves through a window. idk if its just me projecting but tracks like 'breez...

kinda obsessed with how some edm tracks feel like theyre about *outer space* even if they dont say it??
like the way certain basslines feel so vast or how a track will have these twinkly synth pads that just scream “standing on a moon watching a nebula” even if the lyrics are about heartbreak or sth?? idk it hits different... been binging tracks like that lately. makes me want to b...

why are tracks suddenly labeled 'lofi' when theyre just downtempo

why are tracks suddenly labeled 'lofi' when theyre just downtempo
noticed this trend lately where anything slightly chill gets called lofi even if it lacks the grainy warmth or tape hiss that defines the genre. like no, a slow piano track with reverb isnt automatically lofi just because its not a banger. feels like its more about marketing than...

why do some tracks just feel like they're made for specific times of day?

What track gives you goosebumps every time?
Not necessarily the biggest drop.
Just a song that hits you emotionally every single time you hear it.
Share the track and what makes it special. 🎧🔥

What's the greatest EDM anthem of all time?
If you had to pick one track that represents dance music as a whole, what would it be?
Could be a festival banger, a club classic, or an underground favorite.
