uninstalled my rgb software and now my pc is stuck on rainbow puke mode forever

so the vendor app kept eating like 400mb of ram just to exist, and i got annoyed and ripped it out. turns out the lights dont go back to "off" when you do that. they go back to whatever the factory thinks is fun, which is a full rainbow wave cycling about once a second

update: i tried openrgb and it found my ram sticks but not the fans, so now the ram is a calm static white and the fans are still at a rave. somehow thats worse

my roommate suggested putting electrical tape over the fans and honestly i did. three strips each, very neat. i'm calling it tasteful vandalism and i'm proud of it. cat's still staring though, just at a dimmer rave now

tape is a valid fix but most of those fans just go back to rainbow when theres no software telling them otherwise reinstall it once, set them to static or off, save it to the controller's onboard memory if it has that option, then uninstall again or just unplug the little 3 pin argb cable from the hub and keep the fan cable plugged in... my watch has never needed a driver update to not glow
