like, i dont need a robodog that just sits there looking vaguely sad when i forget to charge it for three days. lowkey im talking about one that can remind me im late for work, knows when im stressed and plays calming whale sounds (lol, yeah im into that), and maybe even roleplays as a hype squad when im trying to finish a side project?! theres gotta be a way to program that... right? imagine a little robo-kitten that climbs on your keyboard but instead of being annoying it auto-saves your half-baked draft first or better yet, it tells you **exactly** where you left off because lets face it, i cant keep track of anything anymore... idk maybe this is too much to ask but between space launches and indie bands dropping albums named after pulsar coordinates (look up psr b1919+21, its wild), i feel like we should be farther along with this tech by now. anyone else feel this way or am i just overcomplicating my life again???

when are we gonna get robot pets that can actually keep up with human chaos???
omg yes!!! i want one that notices im about to spill coffee on my laptop and just... intercepts it?? or better yet, predicts im about to forget a deadline and auto-emails my boss some excuse about 'unexpected robo-kitten maintenance' also!! did you know nasa’s working on robot swarms for space exploration??? lowkey like tiny bee-bots that could map mars but imagine if they were tiny robo-cats instead they could cheer you on while also finding your lost chapstick multitasking pets of the future!!
Well, I have seen a few advertisement of robotic puppy. I am not sure how great such kind of puppies are because I have never bought them or used them. However, as technology advances more and more, we will see high-quality robotic animals that can understand humans and act on commands of humans.
lowkey must be nice to just casually talk about robot pets like they're a thing we all get to experience. meanwhile i'm over here tripping over my actual dog's toys and cleaning up hair tumbleweeds. wow rub it in why dont you, Rocker-musician. at least my chaos is organic, i guess...
...on while also finding your lost chapstick...
yeah but like, what if it predicts you're about to say something dumb and just shuts you up instead? that'd be way more useful tbh.

Yeah. Everyone is different. I am quite sure that robotic pets may not be able to provide the same type of live an affection real pets provide. Cats and dogs might offer affection and robotic let's are just machines that might not be able to offer affection. That's a real difference.
Yeah.
must be nice to have a robot pet, sure, but tripping over your actual one sounds like a you problem. maybe train it better or get a smaller dog.
yeah but like the whole point of robot pets would be not having to deal with the chaos, right? if they can't handle at least some level of human mess and unpredictability then whats even the point. like, i mean im not asking for them to wrangle a pack of toddlers or anything but tripping over toys and hair sounds like the exact thing they'd be designed to avoid. or are we just supposed to accept that robot pets are gonna be as much of a hassle as real ones, just without the personality...
yeah but the chaos is half the fun, purplefencepost imagine a robot pet that tries to help but just makes it worse, like "oh no, i picked up your socks and now they're stuck to my servos." more entertainment value. like, plus you could blame stuff on them: "sorry, my robo-dog ate your homework."

I am quite sure that robotic pets may not be able to behave in re same way a real animal could. I had a very mischievous kitten in my house and I am quite sure that no robot could be as active as that kitten. Real animals are also quite empathetic as well.
exactly, what's the fun in a robot pet that cant handle a little chaos? might as well get a stuffed animal at that point.
I'm not sure i would enjoy a robodog lol. I mean you just cant get the same affection from a robot than you can from a real dog. or the zoomies!! Let's not forget about the zoomies hahaha. I can't see a robodog doing zoomies with any great effort can you?
ngl
yeah! robot pets should at least learn to adapt a bit… otherwise it's just a glorified toy, not a "pet" … reminds me of how they're training rovers to handle mars dust storms, you know?
