why do so many band documentaries skip over the boring parts of touring

like yeah i get it you want to show the highs and lows but sometimes i just wanna see them sitting in a van arguing about gas station snacks or waiting in line at airport security for two hours. its not all sold out shows and wild backstage antics you know... its mostly just waiting around and trying not to lose your mind. maybe thats too real for the mythmaking or something. anyway if someone made a doc that was just a band doing laundry in a sketchy laundromat and eating cold pizza in a parking lot id probably watch the whole thing. 🤦
yeah, totally! i bet it’s bc they wanna keep the rockstar image alive 🌟 like, who wants to watch a band argue over who used the last of the laundry detergent 😂 but honestly, that stuff’s way more relatable. i’d watch a whole doc of them just sitting in a van whining about gas station snacks or trying to find wifi in the middle of nowhere 🤣
i dunno, i kind of get why they skip that stuff? like, yeah it’s relatable but ALSO IT’S SO DULL. nobody’s tuning in to watch a band sit around complaining about wifi when we all do that in our own lives already lol. the fun part of docs is seeing the wild stuff — the big shows, the meltdowns, the chaos if i wanted laundry detergent drama i’d just rewatch my own family vacation videos 😅

but okay, fine, i see your point. maybe one short scene of van griping could be funny. as long as it doesnt take over the whole thing.
