like i get it, ancient people looked up and saw stories in the stars, but why are we still using those names today?? dont get me wrong, orion and ursa major are cool and all, but imagine if we renamed them after modern stuff… like “the wifi router” or “the coffee spill.” idk itd be chaotic but fun?? also side note but has anyone noticed how some stars are super famous just bc theyre in a constellation?? like betelgeuse is only a big deal bc its in orion but rigel (also in orion!!) is way brighter and no one talks about it… kinda unfair……
anyway this was mostly an excuse to nerd out about stars but seriously, what would yall rename the constellations if you could?? i think mine would involve indie band names or snack foods. jellybean belt?? starburst cluster???
