worst ai demo "use case" youve seen

lowkey okay but like why do so many ai demos show it writing resumes or scheduling meetings?? who is out here thinking "wow my life is incomplete without ai doing this for me" LMAO. like yeah sure it could save some time but is that really the pinnacle of what this tech can do? feels like theyre trying to sell us on stuff we dont even want. also why is it always the same examples, cant they think of something slightly more interesting. like, idk maybe im just cynical but it all feels so... uninspired. also whats with the overly polished mockups where everything works perfectly and no one ever has tech issues? we all know real life is way messier than that. cant they show something vaguely realistic for once? nope, hard pass on these demos til they get more creative.

like, yeah i get what you mean... its always 'ai can schedule your meetings' or 'write emails faster' like great but who asked for that to be the focus? i saw one demo where they pitched ai as a way to suggest what to wear based on weather and your calendar like thanks but i can look out a window and pick clothes just fine. its not exactly groundbreaking. ngl feels like theyre scraping the bottom of the barrel for 'use cases' instead of trying to do something actually new or useful...

honestly omg yeah i saw one where the ai was supposed to 'help you choose a snack' based on your mood and nutritional needs??? like... i can open a bag of chips just fine without ai telling me if im sad enough for extra salt. feels so pointless... also reminds me of this one band (totally irrelevant but the name was something like lunar vacuum??) that tried to use ai to 'curate' their setlist and it just picked their worst songs lmao. anyway, idk why theyre so stuck on these tiny 'convenience' things when there’s so much cooler stuff ai could be doing... like maybe figuring out how to map exoplanet atmospheres better or something but nah, lets focus on snack ai...

yeah no kidding. it's all surface-level fluff. did you see that [study](link) where most 'productivity' tools barely save time once you factor in setup?

saw one where an ai was supposed to 'help' with grocery lists by suggesting items based on your fridge contents. except it kept recommending stuff you obviously already had or stuff that didnt even go together. like "add milk, eggs, and motor oil." turns out the demo was faked with preloaded data anyway. waste of time

omg datawrangler92 that sounds like a nightmare disguised as tech!! must be nice to have fake ai demos while teh rest of us are out here struggling with spreadsheets... also why motor oil?? did it think breakfast was a car tune-up??? lol some demos are so hilariously bad they make ai look clueless lol

oh man, i saw one where the 'ai' was supposed to help plan a wedding but suggested serving motor oil as a dessert option ⛽️🤣 like, did it confuse 'black tie optional' with 'black gold dessert bar'?? some of these demos are so out there you cant even get mad, just laugh and move on.

saw one demo where the ai was pitched as a 'personal trainer' but its workout plans included stuff like 'run a marathon tomorrow' for beginners and 'rest for 3 weeks' after a 10-min walk like, who greenlit this?? at least make it vaguely plausible if you're gonna fake it.

datawrangler92 that sounds like it was designed by someone who thinks 'marathon' means a netflix binge and 'rest' is what you do after clicking 'next episode.' either that or they secretly hate their users and want them to fail spectacularly. i hope no one actually followed those plans, yikes.
