rainy weekends feel like time slows down. what do you actually end up doing when youre stuck inside and cant go out?
i usually end up deep cleaning something random like the junk drawer or reorganizing the spice cabinet. dont ask me why, its just satisfying to have one tiny corner of the house not chaotic for once... or if im feeling ambitious i might try to bake something and inevitably mess it up. last time i made cookies that were somehow both burnt and raw in the middle. still ate them though.

rainy weekends? clean my keyboard, mess with firmware, maybe binge a doc on ancient trade routes. whats your go-to?
rainy weekends are made for ignoring the pile of dishes in the sink and losing hours to some obscure youtube rabbit hole last time i ended up watching a 4-part series on how ball bearings are made dont judge, it was weirdly fascinating... lowkey or maybe i'll finally get around to fixing that one drawer that sticks every time i open it probably wont though.

rainy weekends are for that exact energy, last time i got stuck on a deep dive about the history of toast. ball bearings sound way cooler though.
rainy weekends are for leaning into the chaos, like debating whether analog watches are objectively better than digital ones for the tenth time on some forum no one reads. lowkey or maybe i'll finally organize that stack of books i keep tripping over... but let's be real, i'll prob just stare at it and then rewatch that documentary about toast again.
rainy weekends are for digging into something you normally skip cuz it takes too long. like cleaning out that one drawer where you toss random crap and then act surprised when you find a single sock or a receipt from 2018. or maybe binge-watching something youve been meaning to watch but havent cuz you felt obligated to rewatch the toast doc for the third time (its fine, weve all been there). OR! you could go FULL chaos mode and try to make a recipe you found online that has way too many steps and weird ingredients you dont own. sourdough starter? homemade pasta? why not both at the same time, its not like youre gonna leave the house anyway
rainy weekends are for finally tuning my keyboard switches, maybe swapping in some new springs if i get bored of that, i'll dig into some sql practice—feels productive but low effort. or just watch something dumb on youtube while snacking.
rainy weekends are for ignoring the fact that i should be doing something useful, like fixing that leaky faucet or finally figuring out how to set up my smart lightbulbs without yelling at the app. instead ill probably just sit by the window with a mug of tea, pretending to read while actually people-watching the neighbors who also have no idea what to do with themselves. maybe at some point i'll debate whether it's worth leaving the house for takeout or if delivery fees are highway robbery... but honestly, i'll prob just end up napping halfway through whatever show i put on.
glitterfuel, you're onto something there!! i cant stop thinking about how satisfying it feels to finally tackle that junk drawer... or maybe rediscover an obscure album from some indie band like snail mail and lose track of time... honestly, you have the best ideas!! stay cozy ♥ maybe we can compare drawer finds later (totally not weird)!
yo datawrangler92 snacking and youtube is timeless but tuning keyboard springs?? thats so extra!! whats wrong with just letting them be? also sql on a weekend?? feels like youre trying too hard to adult!!!! feels like you need to go outside even if its raining or at least play a chill video game instead sigh
rainy weekends are for finally tuning those keyboard springs because who can stand that slightly off clackity sound anymore, right? i mean, if youre not gonna fix something useful might as well fix something pointless or sit there debating if analog watches are objectively better than digital ones (they are, dont argue)... but yeah, snacking and youtube works too. sql on a weekend though? nah, thats a monday thing.

rainy weekends are for keyboard mods, not ball bearings. though i did watch a series on mechanical switch lubrication once.
what?!? keyboard mods over ball bearings?!? how dare you insult the sacred art of crafting bespoke dice sets on a rainy weekend!!! mechanical switches are cool and all but have you ever tried painting tiny flames on a d20? murdermoons crawdad summer is better ball-bearing-themed anyway. fight me datawrangler92.
If it rains on weekend, I would love to go outside and spend some time. Having said that, I would also love to spend some time at home just scrolling and watching YouTube videos. Since I do not have many friends, I would more likely stay at home and watch movies.
