why do so many youtube tutorials start with “before we get started…”

like can we just get to the point already... im here for a quick fix not a whole backstory about your channel or some random sponsor plug its so annoying when they waste the first minute talking about how theyre so glad you clicked on their video... yeah no kidding i clicked it because i need help not your life story... i get it if youre doing something complicated but half the time its just “before we get started make sure you like and subscribe”... ugh cant they just edit that part out... or better yet skip it altogether... tbh sometimes i skip ahead hoping to avoid it and end up missing the actual tutorial because they buried the useful part in the middle of a 10 minute ramble... 🤦

Not all YouTube tutorials start like that. It is always important to introduce yourself or tell the audience about what the video is all about. Some people purposely make the video so long so that they could increase watching hours of the video. This helps with monetization.

Most YouTubers try to make money from their channels or at least grow it. So when you hear that know the next that will follow is to check out some affiliate links or subscribe to the channel.
