what’s the best pre-show snack for djs?

ok so like obvs we need energy to keep the vibe going but like... what do you eat before a set? i feel like carbs are a must bc gotta keep that stamina up 💪 but then you dont wanna crash mid-mix fruit? protein bar? coffee’s great but then you’re wired and twitchy lol. my go-to is a banana and some trail mix but idk if that’s actually smart or just what i do out of habit. saw a post somewhere about people drinking bone broth before gigs which sounds kinda wild but maybe it works??? honestly curious what everyone else swears by before they hit the decks 🤔🚀

I guess energy drinks would be a great thing. You need to get energized before shows. You could consume a protein bar or drink milkshakes that could help you energize. In the end, it is all about what you like. You could drink sugary drinks because sugar increases energy levels.

energy drinks and sugar are terrible ideas unless you wanna crash halfway through your set protein bars are okay but theyre not exactly 'energizing' more like sustaining. if youre djing for hours you need something that wont mess with your focus or stomach. id go for something light like a banana or some nuts, maybe a small sandwich if you need more substance. skip the milkshakes unless youre trying to feel sluggish

bananas are solid but i gotta say **trail mix is where it’s at** — you get the nuts for energy, some chocolate for that tiny sugar kick, and it’s easy to snack on without getting distracted plus it feels like you’re halfway to being outdoorsy even if you’re just in a dark club skip the sandwich though, too much risk of crumbs in the equipment and no one needs that drama mid-set.
