anyone else’s laptop overheating way too easily lately??

i swear mine acts like it’s running a whole render farm just to open chrome... idk if it's the heatwave outside making it worse or if i need to clean out the vents again but it's driving me nuts!! also side question—does anyone actually use those laptop cooling pads or are they just kinda gimmicky? i used to think they looked kinda dorky but now im considering one lol... also totally unrelated but did yall know jupiter has like 92 moons now?? i was today years old when i found that out. wild how some of them are probably leftover chunks from when the solar system was just forming... anyway back to the point maybe i just need a better laptop haha

like, yeah my old laptop used to overheat all the time until i cleaned out the vents—dust can seriously mess things up. those cooling pads arent terrible if you're running heavy stuff but theyre no substitute for good airflow or maintenance also 92 moons?? jupiter's just flexing at this point

yeah mine does that too if i forget to prop it up on something. i used to think it was just old but then i realized the cat hair situation was out of control cleaned it out and now its fine most of the time. still gets toasty if im running too many tabs tho also 92 moons is wild, jupiter’s just out here like ‘look what i can do’

yeah i had that issue a while back—turns out my laptop was throttling because the thermal paste had dried out. if you're handy, reapplying it can help a ton. otherwise, cleaning vents and keeping it elevated works for minor stuff. also, 92 moons is just jupiter out here collecting strays like they're going out of style.

I think that weather can certainly have an effect on laptop temperature. Is the weather too hot outside or is your room quite hot? Maybe you should get your laptop cleaned because dust can increase heat a lot. You can take it to the laptop repair shop and see if they could detect the problem. What is the model of your laptop?
