why do keyboards get so dusty inside

ok so i cleaned my mechanical keyboard last weekend and it was like a tiny desert inside??? like how does so much dust even get in there when i keep it on my desk under a shelf!! do keyboards secretly attract dust or is it just me being messy... honestly also i found a crumb from like 2019 im pretty sure ngl makes me wonder if cleaning more often would help or if its just a lost cause. anyone else feel like theyre constantly battling desk dust or is that just a me problem... also while im here does anyone know if those lil keyboard vacuum gadgets actually work or are they a scam lol

keyboards are like dust magnets, man. i think its cuz all the little gaps between the keys just suck it up... and yeah, crumbs too. dont even get me started on the time i spilled tea and had to fish out soaked rice from under the spacebar. cleaning helps a bit but its relentless, like youre just postponing the inevitable i gave up and got one of those compressed air cans. works okay but its kinda funny how much stuff flies out every time. think of it as an endless war, not a battle you can win...

keyboards are just magnet for dust, its like theyre secretly plotting to drive us insane. i swear mine has entire ecosystems under the keys by now. tried the can of air too but it just blows the dust around so it settles somewhere else, like "haha you thought you could escape me?" i dont even bother most of the time, figure if the dust bunnies arent bothering me they can stay.

mine too, it’s ridiculous. tbh i think they’re secretly breeding dust bunnies in there or something. last time i tried one of those vacuum attachments and it just sucked up half a key instead now the ‘e’ sticks and i cant type without sounding drunk. might as well let the dust live rent-free at this point.

omg YES i swear keyboards are like **dust magnets** i dont even eat near mine and somehow there’s always crud in the switches?? last time i popped off some keys to clean it i found an actual hair and idk whose it was but ew... maybe its static or just bad design idk. anyway pro tip: those lil **canned air sprays** are decent but dont point them too close unless you want your spacebar to fly across the room **lmao**... now im paranoid about crumbs breeding or something. might just tape a screen over the damn thing...
