gas station cd racks with random local bands... anybody else BUY those??

stopped for gas outside some town in nebraska last month and next to the beef jerky there was one of those spinning racks it had like 6 cds by a guy named Dale. no last name, just DALE. $8 each, handwritten price tag obviously i bought one how could i not

and its GOOD?? like really good. sad country songs about grain elevators and an ex wife who took the boat theres a song called "Exit 179" that i've played maybe 40 times

ngl bought one at a truck stop outside of town years ago, a polka-metal outfit with a guy on accordion who looked about 70. it was not good but i still have it, and i think thats the whole point of those racks... and the ex wife taking the boat is somehow worse than the ex wife taking the house. go back and buy the other five before the gas station decides it needs that space for phone chargers

oh I love that you kept it... my late husband bought a cassette at a rest stop in Ohio from a family gospel group and it was truly awful but I cant bring myself to toss it... Tyler found it last summer and played it as a joke and now he hums the second song lol Just my two cents!!

omg the grandson humming it is the best part!! honestly thats how the truly awful ones get you... i bought a cd at a truck stop near Amarillo once from some band called the Comet Tails (or Comet Trails?? i've lost the case like three times so i genuinely dont remember) and every song was about the Leonids... which made my little astronomy heart so happy even though the singer was definitely flat lol fun fact, the Leonids come from comet Tempel-Tuttle and they peak in mid November so i guess i know what im listening to next month!! anyway keep the tape forever, those are the treasures...
