DJs... do you actually pick the songs yourselves or does someone hand you a list??

depends on the station. most big commercial ones dont let the on-air DJ pick much at all. the program director or music director sets rotations and scheduling software builds the log hour by hour https://www.rcsworks.com/gselector/ https://www.musicmaster.com/. a lot of those "live" shifts are voice tracked too, recorded hours ahead. college and community stations are where DJs actually pick their own stuff. so if yesterday's song sounded like someone chose it for the herons, that was probably the software. sorry Pam
