need 3am trance recs to stay awake for the draconids this week!!

so the draconids peak around wednesday night into thursday and i'm dragging a lawn chair out to the field behind my aunt's place... fun fact, they come from comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner and they're super slow meteors, which is weirdly relaxing to watch!! last time i tried this i fell asleep in the chair by 1am and woke up covered in dew lol

so i need long, building, hypnotic stuff that won't knock me out... not too chill but nothing with a huge drop either, cause i'll scream and wake up

yeah theyre super slow, about 20 km/s, one of the slowest showers there is go out right after dark tho, not late night. draconids are weird that way since the radiant is highest in the evening https://www.amsmeteors.org/meteor-showers/meteor-shower-calendar/ and dont expect a lot, usually under 10 an hour unless theres an outburst year

wait really?? so i've been planning a whole 3am caffeine strategy for a shower that's basically done by bedtime... thats so me lol. i once showed up a day late for a total lunar eclipse so this is honestly progress!!

oh honey the Draconids are the one shower that's best right after dark... ngl the radiant is up high in the evening so you can be out there with a cardigan and a decaf and be in bed by ten!! my grandson Tyler put some trance music on in the car once and I'll admit it kept me wide awake... although that was mostly me asking him to turn it down lol. I'd say go out right after sunset Thursday and take a lawn chair... I watch the herons at our retention pond at dusk anyway so I'll be looking up too!! And I wouldn't feel bad, I watched a whole Dateline last week and figured out the husband did it in the first ten minutes, so we all have our moments... Just my two cents!!
