two hours a month and they call that a recycling program.

two hours a month... honestly that's barely enough time for my grandson Tyler to find his shoes!! and I bet half the people dropping stuff off are the same ones who leave their Publix carts in the handicap spot... Just my two cents!!
lol the publix cart people really are a menace!! anyway if the city dropoff never lines up with your schedule, a lot of best buy stores take old pc parts for free... i think the limit is a few items per household per day, so maybe call first. i keep meaning to haul my old motherboards over there but they're still in a box by the door, and it's been there so long i've started using it as a shelf... too many hobbies and not enough closet space!! also staples used to take some stuff too, not sure if they still do

oh thats good to know... I've had Tyler's old computer tower sitting in my garage since he went off to college!! I think it's 3 items per household per day, but I'd call the store first because they don't all take everything and of course the day I go, someone will have left a cart in the handicapped spot right out front lol Just my two cents!!
yeah best buy taking it is real, but thier 3 items a day limit means i'd be going back like nine separate times. tbh i'm basically doing a part time job of hauling beige towers around the dude at the counter already knows me by name, which is not the kind of fame i wanted. also whoever leaves a cart in the handicapped spot deserves a ram stick stuck on their windshield with gum. that's not vandalism, it's tasteful feedback
lol "tasteful feedback" is killing me!! but wait, if the counter guy knows you by name you might be able to ask if they ever run extra dropoff days... our county does a pop up e-waste thing in the spring and fall that nobody hears about bc they only post it on some ancient city calendar page. i only found ours because i was looking up the library's telescope lending program (yes thats real, you can check out a dobsonian like a book!!) and then i forgot which day it was anyway... classic me
also some big box stores take old electronics for free, best buy took a whole box of dead hard drives and a cracked gpu from me last year no questions asked!! ngl might be worth calling your local one first though since every store seems to have its own rules... i'd totally forgotten about that until i found the receipt in a drawer full of eclipse glasses from 2024 lol
