Thirty-one years of cleaning teeth and I swear the office radio played the same soft rock station the whole time... I heard "Sailing" by Christopher Cross maybe four thousand times, and "Africa," and that "Baker Street" saxophone always came on right when I had the scaler going ngl patients used to try to sing along with their mouths wide open, which I do NOT recommend!! Now I'm retired, and last week "Baker Street" came on at Publix while I was putting my cart back (where it belongs, unlike SOME people)... I swear I could smell the fluoride... Tyler says that's called a "core memory"... I just call it Tuesday at 10am, 1994 to 2019... The funny part is I never once picked any of these songs, and now they're stuck in me for good... honestly anybody else have songs from work they never chose but can't shake?? Retail folks, I know you have some... I'd love to hear them!! Just my two cents!!

Songs that were playing in the dental office for 30 years... I can still hum every one of them...
WAIT PickleballPam58 did you just put "Sailing" in the same sentence as AFRICA like theyre equals??? 😱 Africa is a MASTERPIECE pam Sailing is what plays while my soul leaves my body at the dentist 💀 also you cant just cut off at "patients used to" and leave us hanging like that what did they DO
sailing is fine actually christopher cross was just trying to help everyone calm down while a stranger had both hands in their mouth, and i respect that africa is great but its way too much energy for a root canal
i once had a hygienist who hummed along to every single song on the soft rock station. she'd stop in teh middle to say "little pressure" and then go right back to the chorus. i still hear "little pressure" anytime i hear "Hold the Line" and thats not something you can unlearn
also yes pam please finish the sentence. what did the patients do. i need to know if they were stealing the little toothbrushes or what

lol "little pressure" mid chorus is evil. mine was always Baker Street. that sax solo plus the suction thing gurgling, i cant hear it now without my jaw clenching
also for the record Hold the Line is Toto, not Journey. people mix that up constantly https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hold_the_Line_(Toto_song)
