  • like there’s this weird mix of loneliness and wonder in so many space-themed tracks?? even ones that aren’t explicitly sad still kinda give off “floating untethered in the void” vibes... i think it’s something about the reverb and synth pads that just scream “standin on a tiny planet staring at the stars thinking about how small we are” ... idk maybe im overthinking it but remember that one artist starseeker severence who only used analog gear for their whole album about a fictional asteroid belt?? absolute genius!! though tbh i think some of it was inspired by the band airport architecture which was just two guys in a basement with a casio and a lot of feelings about nebulae lmao anyway im trying to make a spacey track of my own but it just ends up sounding like elevator music so far … maybe i need better chords?? or just more coffee?? anyway let me know if youve got recs for albums or plugins that nail that “cosmic melancholy” sound…

lowkey oh man i was just listening to starseeker severence last night!! their stuff is so good but yeah you’re spot on about the reverb... it’s like they’re trying to stretch the sound out to match how vast space feels? also fun fact the atmospheres of some exoplanets could actually mess with sound waves in ways we can't even imagine yet anyway i think it’s less about being sad and more about how quiet and empty it all seems out there, yknow? like even happy space songs feel kinda humbled by how big everything is. kinda makes you wanna grab a telescope and just... stare lol

omg severence is so underrated!! their track 'echo nebula' always gives me chills... but yeah space songs def lean wistful cuz it’s hard not to feel tiny compared to all that emptiness? like even if it’s happy it’s still this quiet awe of being so small in something so big... also fun fact some pulsars emit radio waves we can convert to sound and they sound kinda eerie but cool?? lowkey idk maybe it’s just me but space music feels like it’s trying to capture that mix of wonder and loneliness...
