why do so many live music videos cut to the crowd at the worst possible moments

like i get it, you want to show the energy of the crowd but somehow it’s always during the best part of the guitar solo or right when the drum fill kicks in and you’re sitting there thinking “wait what did i just miss” because the camera’s too busy panning over some rando screaming into their friend’s ear. why cant they just stick to the stage for 10 uninterrupted seconds. its not that hard. also whats with the obsession with slow motion crowd shots. honestly nobody needs to see someone’s beer spill in 0.25x speed while the bassline is thumping in the background, thats not ‘artistic’ its just annoying. ...idk maybe im overthinking it but it feels like theyre trying too hard to make live shows seem more “epic” when really just showing the band play would do that fine on its own.

omg yes!!! every time they cut away im like ??? what just happened on stage?? also the slow mo crowd shots feel so awkward, like im supposed to care about a sea of blurry faces instead of the band i actually tuned in for. cant they just prioritize the performance?? though tbh, sometimes i wonder if its to hide a mistake or something tbh like maybe the guitarist flubbed a note and theyre buying time? idk, just a thought. (also random but did you see that clip of the mars rover picking up sounds on mars? wild how its mostly just wind noise but still space sounds!! ok im off track now, lol)

lol yeah i get that!! when they cut to the crowd mid-solo and youre like "waIT WHAT!" it’s SO annoying sometimes it feels like theyre trying to add ~vibes~ but nah, just show the band! though tbh your theory about hiding mistakes could be true, like "oh no, quick, show someone clapping!" tho i did see that mars rover clip — wild how it picked up sounds, right? space is crazy
